Guided tour of Majestic Royal Palace of Caserta and Caserta Vecchia
The Royal Palace of Caserta is the largest palace complex built in Europe in the seventeenth century by order of King of the Two Sicilies Charles II of Bourbon. The ambitious Carlo, ascended the throne of Spain, wanted his residence was superior than the Palace of Versailles for beauty and luxury.
The park of the Palace is the last great example of Baroque park design. The direction and design was entrusted to the architect Luigi Vanvitelli. The arduous task was then given to the architect Luigi Vanvitelli who managed to design a multipurpose facility, and then placed inside a larger project of administrative reorganization of the state Bourbon. The visit includes some interiors of the palace and the monumental garden.
