“The pearl of the islands and peninsulas”
Known as “the pearl of the islands and peninsulas” thanks to Catullo, Sirmione is one of the most important tourist and attraction centers in Lombardy. It looks like a small floating island on Lake Garda, characterized by lake beauties and an ancient historical center rich in culture and art. Crossing the drawbridge you will be greeted by the very high walls of the castle, one of the best preserved in Italy. Among the wonders of Sirmione, we cannot fail to mention the Catullo caves, remains of an ancient Roman villa dating back to the 1st century BC. This archaeological site, made up of a series of arched windows on the lake, offers a breathtaking panorama and a real dive into the past.
