Visit of San Ginesio
San Ginesio is called the “Balcony of the Sibillini”, because from the promenade along the mighty walls it is possible to admire, as far as the eye can see, the landscape of the Marche region, ranging from the Sibillini Mountains to the Monte Conero and the Adriatic Sea. The beautiful old town retains the characteristics of the medieval city surrounded by ancient walls on which they insist ramparts, towers and castle doors. The visit starts from Porta Picena and the close Pilgrim Hospital, which originally had the function of hosting the pilgrims on their way to Loreto or to Rome. Hence, through a scenic route along the castle walls, the tour guide will take you to visit the Collegiate with the beautiful Romanesque-Gothic façade, the church of San Francesco, where the civic assembly took place and Teatro Leopardi.
