Visit of "Santu Antine"
A typical Sardinian “Nuraghe”!
In the centre of the plain of Cabu Abbas, in the Meilogu district, you will find the compact mass of the Santu Antine, also known as the nuraghe of Torralba. Santu Antine is a nuraghe of the trilobate type, in which the central keep, some 17 m high, is reinforced and protected by a strong curtain wall with three smaller towers. All around stretches a village of circular-plan nuraghic huts, among which stands out the meeting hut, distinguished by a round stone bench and a raised hearth in limestone. Other, square-plan houses dating from the Roman period show that the site remained in use long after the nuraghic period.
