Franciacorta is the first Italian sparkling wine produced exclusively with the classical method, or second fermentation in the bottle, to win in 1995, the official sta-tus of a Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin (DOCG).
Today, the front label of the wine is simply the name "Franciacorta": This term defines the area of cultivation, production method, and wine. The whole of Europe has only 10 such wines privileged.
