No matter where you enter Bovino from, you can always see them a jestic Ducale Castle. A historic aristocratic residence dominating the entire Bovino Valley,it houses the diocesan museum and a painting attributed to Mattia Preti depicting the Martyrdom of Saint Sebastian. According to chronicles of the time,Manfredi,the son of Emperor Frederick II,lived in the castle before the battle of Benevento.The focus of Bovino’s religious life is the Basilica Co-Cathedral,with its characteristic Romanesque façade and roofline and fragments of precious Byzantine sculpture.
